The cocoa industry has been the back bone of the Ghanaian Economy through its contribution to the economy of the country. Government revenues, employment creation and poverty alleviation or reduction and extension of development projects and social services to farmers.

Exports account for 30% of the country’s GDP with Agriculture contributing around 40% of export earnings. Cocoa is the largest contributors of these earnings providing up to 75% of it. Cocoa offers direct employment (farmers, farm labourers etc) to over two (2) million people and indirect employment (support to the industry) of beyond three (3) million.

Ghana remains the world’s second largest producer of cocoa with the best quality which earns a premium price from its sale on the international market.

Hans Nef originally exits as a Licensed Buying Company (LBC) which partakes in the internal marketing of cocoa as its core business. Hans Nef will soon be going into other auxiliary businesses to complement its revenue stream.

Hans Nef operates in an environment of stiff competition with other Licensed Buying Companies for cocoa from farmers. Hans Nef is poised to be among the highest cocoa purchaser for COCOBOD among the other LBC’s with a good market share.

The company hopes to perform successfully and aims at listing on the Ghana Stock Exchange and working towards in being a major player in the cocoa industry showing tremendous growth in all aspects of its core business activities.

Hans Nef in the future seeks to establish alliances with some international cocoa trading companies to roll out schemes that will increase the yield and acreage of farmers and also improve on their livelihoods.

As part of its strategy to maintain and improve on our share of the market with regards to cocoa purchases and also seeking for the well-being of cocoa farmers and their families, Hans Nef has acquired over thousand (1,000) acre land in the town, Dwomoh near DuaYaw Nkwanta in the Brong Ahafo Region of Ghana.
